President Emeritus Message

As we approach our third decade since the founding of the Ian Richardson Foundation I can see the incredible growth both in our children and an increase in the number of homes. I have been able to see so many children grow up, heal from the pain and tragedies they experienced and become nurses, administrators, teachers, and rural workers that impact their communities and families.

Since a child, my heart has always been pulled and drawn towards the unfortunate, those that seem to need a helping hand and those that cannot look after themselves. While Ian was alive He and I would spend hours training, guiding, supporting families and orphaned children, and watch those with inner wounds find peace and hope.

We started out with one home with very little outside support, investing our time and money to set up a home in Myanmar for children and orphans and see that they are fed, clothed, educated, and learn life skills so that they could go out and accomplish something for their communities, families and their country. Looking back all I can see is the hand of God that continually supplied and provided every time and right on time. Today I look at where we are as a foundation with over 14 homes that have been opened and over 7 seven are now self-sustainable and it just blesses my heart to know that we are only increasing and expanding our support and help to those that are less fortunate.

In the coming years, my goal is to see the foundation continue to expand and grow its work here in Australia and in as many places around the world where we can continue to touch the lives of those less fortunate than us and give the that lifting hand in their time of need to help them impact their families and communities. For us to achieve this we need your help and support in any way that you may be able to provide it.

Lastly, I cannot thank our faithful supporters and donors enough for their generosity and their commitment to the foundation's mission, as we would never be where we are today without them!

Yours Sincerely

Margaret Richardson
